Please join us for “Who needs safe spaces and trigger warnings?” – A thought-provoking conversation with featured guests, Dr. Nafees Alam and Dr. Dylan Selterman.

  • The event will be on Thursday, Sept. 26  -at 4:30 pm in Old Main Brown Auditorium, with a Meet-n-Greet and refreshments from 4:00 to 4:25.
  • How do safe spaces and trigger warnings impact free speech, mental well-being and academic growth?  The event has three parts –
  • Our panelists, Drs. Alam and Selterman, will present their ideas on safe spaces and trigger warnings.
  • Panelists will discuss the topic between themselves.
  • Audience members will ask questions of our presenters.

Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with others in an open and civil dialogue on how we can foster an inclusive yet challenging environment for learning.

This event is co-hosted by Heterodox Dragons, Bridge Cortland, and the Barbara A. Galpin '68, M '74  Institute for Civic Engagement.
