This celebration is part of SUNY Cortland's recognition of Latiné Heritage Month. The "Fiesta del Plátano" (the festival of the plantain) is a celebration of the history and culture of people of African descent in Latin America and the diaspora, and their connection to the Plátano. The Fiesta del Plátano seeks to foreground a collective connection with the plantain throughout the Americas. Come celebrate Latiné Heritage Month with food, music, and exhibits! Sponsored by Institutional Equity and Inclusion Office, Cortland College Foundation - Equity Fund, Clark Center for Global Engagement, Cultural and Intellectual Climate Committee, and students from Anthropology 329 and 491.
